View Full Version : 94 amp alternator '72Malibu May 3rd, 04, 9:08 AM What is the small approximately .060 x .250 post on the back of the alternator by the battery output connection? Thanks wayner May 3rd, 04, 1:35 PM Could that be another ground for the casing. I have the same alternater and seem to remember the extra casing ground. With hi amperage you can never have enough grounding!!! '72Malibu May 3rd, 04, 2:04 PM I don't know, I wasn't aware of a casing ground. Cecil May 3rd, 04, 5:51 PM I bought a 105 amp, had the same terminal on it. Mine is a ground, and (of course) I grounded it... Grounds are your friends... And they make great craft projects too. http://www.gourdgeousfarm.com/ '72Malibu May 4th, 04, 7:57 AM How do you ground it? They terminal doesn't have any threads. Can I buy the correct terminal or do I need to go to the junkyard. Thanks again. '72Malibu May 5th, 04, 9:03 AM TTT John_Muha May 5th, 04, 9:40 AM I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you have good grounds through the 2 mounting bolts without a lot of paint under them. '72Malibu May 5th, 04, 3:38 PM That's what I was going to do. Just wanted confirmation. Thanks again |
