Just purchased a high torque starter, and it only has two wire posts. My current starter (71 chevelle) has three posts (S, R and Battery).
What do I do? punt? Why did they have to do this? smile.gif
THANKS.

The purple wire goes to S this is the starter wire from the ignition/saftey switch.
The b/p wire goes to the R terminal(missing on your new starter)this feeds 12v to the ignition coil + on start ups.If your car still has the factor distributor/coil set-up,you will need the correct starter or if it been converted to hei/electronic ignition-tape this wire up in your harness, making sure it will not ground out in the future - MIKE
