I was thinking about converting my alternator/regulator over to one system. I've had problems in the past with voltage fluctuations and on occasion the car not starting. I've changed out both but would like to know where to get a combination alternator with internal regulator, where to get a good one and how to hook it up. As always your help is appreciated.

you could get a one wire alt. and all you do is run one wire right to the batt.
I got one on my 406 and it works good.

Get an alternator from a '75 pickup or the like which will be the 10SI internally regulated unit. As far as I'm concerned, the 10SI is about the cheapest and best unit to use on a mostly stock car and it looks very much like the externally regulated alternator if you're into that. If you need more power, step up to a 12SI or the CS130. The best place to get them is usually your local parts store.

Check the Tech Reference for the alternator upgrades for more info and wiring directions.
