View Full Version : how to install rubber mat in the interior mhaight1 Oct 12th, 03, 7:44 AM Are there any tricks to installing a re-production rubber mat in a 1965 chevelle 300 series in the interior Don_Lightfoot Oct 13th, 03, 10:08 AM I haven't needed to replace mine to this point, may have to in a few years though. there have been a couple of members on here who have done it with their 69's and the main advice they gave was to get the mat as flexible as possible by leaving it in the sun for a while or getting it heated up some other way. Good luck. mhaight1 Oct 15th, 03, 8:42 PM Thanks for your help.Mark von Oct 15th, 03, 9:23 PM When I did my '69, what really helped was putting the mat in the car then putting a small electric heater in there for about 1/2 hour with the doors closed and windows up. It really softens it up and makes it much easier to fit to the floor pan and trim. |
