I'm getting ready to put my new carpet in. How far up the front passenger side does the carpet go...i.e. up under the firewall insulation (if so how much?) or actually over the insulation? I think it's under, but just want to be sure.

Hi Jerry,

It goes under the insulation and the front right corner of the heel pad should be up tight to the corner of the floor pan/tunnel.

If you line up the rear edge of the carpet dead center of the Fisher body plate on the sill plate it puts it right where it belongs.

Sill plates are these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1855792957). They go inside and run the length of the door. Some people call them scuff plates...
