I would like to know how many 71 Chevelle Malibu Convertibles were produced. Any ideas?

Thank you! We've had this car since it was brand new and have always wondered. Does anyone know what the market value of one might be. Has brand new top, excellent body, '78 Corvette engine, not original interior but still very nice.

I just paid 2200 for my 70 that needs alot of work. The cheapest I have seen a convertible on this page was a 72 (I think) "project car" read rust bucket for 1800. If yours is as good as you say, I wouldn't be surprised if you could get 15 to 20 grand for it, but why sell it after all these years?

Kitz -

I live in the northwest, and have recently seen 4 or 5 nice 71-72 convertibles for sale in the $9K-$12K range, which is probably a good ballpark value for your car. My price guide has the 71 & 72 ragtops in #2 condition at $14,700. This is probably a case where the guide is off, though, as the price listed for a 70 ragtop in the same grade is $12,600. With the exception of maybe 71 owners, you'll find most people placing a higher value on the 70 models. So I'd say your car's value is more accurately reflected in the values listed for 70, possibly just a little lower.

Go to the Auto Trader Online site and do a nationwide search for 71 ragtops. This will give you the best idea of what they're going for. Enjoy your car!
