: Blowing Fuses !!!!!!!

I have a problem with my 67 SS Chevelle blowing fuses like crazy ! The problem is that every time I turn on the parking lights and turn the knob to INCREASE the dash lights so you can see them,,, I get a blown fuse ! I have replaced the light switch with a new one and still the same problem.
Now this is the scary part, the fuse that keeps blowing is on the very bottom of the fuse box and it is NOT the insterment fuse that one would expect to be blowing.
I have had that one blow also but not like the other one that controls the brake lights,
is there anyone out there that has a problem close to this ?
Thanks,
jr

I can not say I have had this problem. All I can offer is some general information. Everytime I have had a strange electrical problem it has always been caused by a bad ground. Check your dash grounding then expand to the circuit with the blown fuse.

Good luck.

Thanks Tom,
I will try the grounds under the dash and
the ones from the firewall to the valve covers ( I read that one somewhere in hear this morning although I don't know if it will pretain to my problem)

i would have to say a hot lead also, being it happens when you increase the dimmer.maybe the switch itself?look for a chaffing wire.
