I'm looking for a rear defogger motor/fan to replace the one that originally came on my 70. Haven't had any luck with parts suppliers yet, just wondering if anybody knows where I can get one? Any and all leads appreciated.

GIMME N SS May 7th, 00, 6:26 PM I've seen a couple offered lately on Ebay (used and restored) Might want to give it a try if all else fails. RC leeds May 9th, 00, 11:43 AM hey, while looking for a plastic cover for my rear defogger I got several offers for conplete kits with blowers, put up an ad. Or call Sundell in slippery rock pa. oh, the plastic covers are fragile and you;ll pay for an unbroken one. here's the email for one of them: Koehn, Doug [dkoehn@harris.com] Bob B. May 22nd, 00, 8:44 PM I believe I have what you need,if you still need it email me back Bill T SS70 May 23rd, 00, 7:48 PM My 70 SS with factory installed rear defogger has a METAL screen, not plastic. I don't know if plastic covers were used in 70 but I know mine is metal. ------------------ Bill Taylor TC Gold Member #73 December 1999 Feature Car www.chevelles.com/feature/december99.htm (http://www.chevelles.com/feature/december99.html) www.chevelles.com/showroom/BillTSS70-2 (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/BillTSS70-2) www.chevelles.com/showroom/leaves2 (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/leaves2) RC 70 May 23rd, 00, 10:08 PM I posted an " Wanted" ad an got several responses but couldn't put the puzzle together. What I mean is, I got a lot of conflicting info so I backed off till after June 4th. That's the day of our (Southern California Chevelle Camino Club) annual show in Irvine. Should be 200-250 Chevelles and Elcos there and somebody has to have a rear window defogger in a 70. I also contacted the local Chevy dealer and they said 68-70 same. 71-up different. I had replys telling me plastic grills when the grill still in my 70 SS is metal. Also telling me approx 4" X 9" for the grill size and bolt pattern to bolt up the blower. My original holes in my package tray are "skewed" not a perfect rectangle. Bob B. I may contact you to see what you have, or if you know the gospel truth, please contact me. Bill T SS70 I would like to hear about your defogger and bolt pattern for your defogger since your description sounds closest to what I'm looking for. mr409 May 24th, 00, 6:44 AM The 1970 defogger is metal. The grill and the blower housing. 71-72 are plastic. That of course makes the 1970 unit a one time affair and harder to find. My 70 grille, both the one I replaced and the replacement is plastic and they are fragile. It is the original dash and dash switch, I cannot guarantee the blower and grill are original but the metal under the package shelf is-- anyway I got my replacement grill from Sundell |
