Can someone please tell me what to use for noise reduction in my 72. The old carpet is disintergrating and I want to put down some good insulation before next spring. And if one layer is good.....what about two?

If you plan on pulling up your carpet completely and cleaning up your floor boards in the same process... I would hop on ebay and search for "Dynomat". You can get a rather large box of it for under $100 and it deadens sound better than anything I've evr seen before. I'm an ex stereo junky and this stuff is amazing! Its also available in a spray but that might get messy.

check out the latest edition of Car Craft, they have a very good column on sound deadner and how to install. May be just what you are looking for.
