I've got a '71 SS with stock kick panels (not ventilated or anything like that), and I really want to add speakers to my kickpanels, as I've already got big speakers in my hat deck and an amp in back, and need to balance the sound. I want to put speakers in my kick panels, is there anyway to cut them for the speakers and make them fit? I would say they are maybe 4-5 inches deep, and that's what I'm concerned about, if they can fit. You can buy new kick panels w/ speakers for $129/ea from Ground Up or whatever, but that is really pricey when you've got perfectly fine kickpanels and really good speakers! So any input is much appreciated, thanks!

Best way to tell is to pull the panels off and see where they will fit the best. There are square holes behind them in the body of the car. I plan on doing this to my 70 as well eventually.
