Just wondered if anybody had any suggestions about making a 68 center A/C vent look new again. The vent is chromed metal, with black painted fins. The chromed metal part has what appears to be decayed 34 year old sponge rubber on it, and the remaining sponge rubber seal in the plastic housing is shot! I don't think they repro these, although I have seen similar ones for a 67-68 Camaro in the Ground Up catalog. Will they fit?, or somebody that's done a 68 dash resto, point me in the right direction. Thanxxx!-Al

Al,I used the foam tape that comes on a roll. You can find it where they sell window weatherstriping.I dont think theres suposed to be foam on the chrome part.On mine the foam was inside the hard plastic piece. As far as reconditioning it ,If your chrome is pitted have it rechromed and then repaint the black with an egg shell black.

Did my '69 using the "fuzzy" side of adheasive backed velcro. Looks just like the original. I don't know if a '68 is different or not.
