: Power Windows & Weatherstripping?

I'm considering installing power windows in my '65 Malibu SS. Does anyone know if the window regulators are the same for Power as for Manual? I've heard that you can just bolt-on the motors. Anyone have any experience with this?

Also I'm getting my car back from my Painter in about a week. I'm replacing all of the rubber. Any recommendations on brand of weatherstripping? I've heard good things about Metro and SofSeal both. Any experienced users out there that care to give me recommendation?

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Greg

Spiderwire. I am planning on doing the same on my 66 and I know for sure that the manual regulators are different from the power version. I expect the 65 to have the same problem.

Greg,

Can't say for sure for 65's, but for 68-72's the power window regulator is different. You cannot put the PW motor on a manual regulator.

Also for weatherstripping, my vote goes to Metro. I used it and liked it!

Good Luck,

Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll look at aftermarket power windows or just leave them manual.

Spiderwire;

Go the "technical reference" section of this site and you can see what I did to put power windows in my 64 2 door wagon. It's under techref#12. (I'm no good at putting links here!)
