Hey guys, Was there any difference in distributors in 66 between the malibu and SS. How do I tell the difference? Does anyone know the casting #'s or anything I should look for?
Thanks

The factory manual list the distributers by engine size and vehicle only. They do not show a difference for ss. The part # is stamped in front of the distributor. Can be seen without removing from car.I assume you only need the big block applications for chevelle? They all show the same centrifical advance of 30 degrees at 5000 rpm,and the same initial base setting of 4 degrees but they show different vacume advance spec. The 396/325 is 20 deg. @17"Hg,the 396/360 is 12deg. @ 12" Hg.
The part #s are:
1111109 396/325, 1111137 same engine with K66 transistorized ign.
1111138 396/360, 1111139 same eng with trans. ign.K66
The manual does not have a listing for the 375 hp motor
Hope this helps One more thing the build date code is just to the right of the part #
