I am looking to upgrade my sweep dash with an SS dash. I was just wondering if I also needed to change the column shifter to a floor shifter.

No need to change it, mine originally came with a column shift (and so did that 350K LS6!)

The SS dash for column shift has the shift indicator in the speedo. A cable from the speedo shift indicator clips on the steering column collar.
