Im in the middle of a frame off restore on a 72 heavy chevy. I still have some body work to do and alot of other things. I want to go ahead and do the interior and have it done till (while im saving money for the quarters panels.) My question is could i cover the interior with plastic as i went along so that the new stuff and everything i have worked on would be protected? Im afraid everything would get back dirty and i would be wasting my time. has anyone else tried this

Go ahead and buy all the interior stuff if you want to get it out of the way, but I'd store it elsewhere in plastic until it's time to go in. Preferribly the very end.
You'd have to pull all the stuff out anyway to do the paint correctly. (IE) door jambs and what not.

when you get the car back from the body shop the glass and interior will be covered in a fine dust of body shop grit, dust, and overspray. you don't want your new interior with this crap on it. also if it is a color change they may want to take the doors off, etc. probably best to just wait until the body and paint is done and do the interior last.
