Here is a question for you guys, so I am rooting aroun my local junk yard and I find an old very rough 1965 2 door chevelle w/ buckets. I myself have a 1965 Chevelle w/ a bench and would like buckets. I begin inspecting these buckets for a possible swap and they are high backs, that is to say they are higher than the buckets in other 65's I have seen. Was this ever some sort of option or are these just seats out of something else (a 70's chevelle) put into this 65??

Mine are low back and I'm sure that's the only way they came.

Many original low-back bucket seats got tossed for hi-backs. It was a cool thing to do back in the 70s and early 80s along with having your car jacked way up in the back with airshocks.

They should be low backs, the seats you have found are not original. Here is a pic of what they should look like.

I have acess to a pair of bucket seats out of a 62 impala they look like the same style as the 64-65 chevelle except for the covers obviously, does anyone know if these will interchange with a chevelle?

Brandon.. I think the seats are the same dimensions and shouls interchange but the stainless trim on the Impala seats run up the sides go across the top of the buckets and down the other side. The Chevelle seat stainless trim just goes up the two sides about 3/4 of the way to the top(like the picture shows)
