Is there any difference in the headrest mechanism b/w the 69 chevelle and the 70/72?

From my experience (on the cars I've owned) the bench and bucket seats are the same except for upholstry. RichF

Poor way to judge, but the headrests on my '69 buckets appear to have a different locking mechanism than what I've seen on '70 or higher. I have no way of verifying that my '69 headrests are '69s, but I've seen no reason to believe otherwise. The '69 just operates slightly differently, and looks different than the 70. Both had 2 round support rods going into seat back, but the locking mechanisms were different. Again, I can only relate this to MY car, which is '69 Bucket. Can't state what is 100% accurate.

I agree with Flye. Look at some of the resto catalogs and you'll find 69 mechanism listed separately from 70-72....and priced higher. I went with the 70-72 cause you can hardly see them, plus.....I'm cheap! ;)
