After a lot of searching I have finally found a factory tach/guages for my 68 SS396/325hp, but it is a 5,000 r.p.m tach. I was wondering if anyone knew what r.p.m tach is the correct one for this engine. I can't seem to find it in any of my books or anywhere else.

This isn't related to your question, but rather to your message header: the tach you got is the square one which goes between the speedo and the clock, right? The clock doen't get replaced by a tach or gauges on the 68.

That 5000rpm redline is the correct tach for
a 325hp 396.
