When I pull the release handle it disengages fine, but does not "pop" up. The spring seems to be strong and in good shape, but I have to go and push down on the hood on the drivers side near the windshield in order for me to get my fingers in there to lift it. Any help would be most appreciated.

Don, its definitely not hung right. There was a thread about a month ago, and I forget whose advice it was but I followed it ( never hung a hood before ) and now have a very well functioning hood.
