: El Camino mutations
dcarr Jan 17th, 00, 9:18 AM I've added a new section to the El Camino area for El Camino mutations. The 4 hybrid mutant cars that are shown are pretty interesting.

Doug Garland Jan 17th, 00, 9:27 AM Dan, I know where a '63 Chevy II / El Camino mutation is for sale. The only thing he did wrong was not put a tailgate on it, it's one solid piece. He made it from a station wagon.Very cool looking, needs paint though to finish it out.

Elree Colby Jan 17th, 00, 5:55 PM A few years back there was a 4 door ElCamino cruising the streets of Show Low, AZ. It was a 70/72 body, don't remember the exact year. I never took the time to get a close look. Not sure how the frame was done and I don't remember what back glass was used. Hay 64elcamino, do you remember seeing it? It certainly stood out in a crowd.
Mike H Jan 17th, 00, 6:38 PM Dan,
Have you seen the one Cadillac built? I think it was in 76, and they called it the Gentlemens pick up. A guy showed me a copy of a GM sales picture a few weeks ago. He claims they only made 100 of them, and that he has #100. He also said his truck was featured in Hemmings in May or June? I do not have those issues, but would be interested if anyone could scan it and send.
DJRisberg Jan 17th, 00, 7:28 PM I LIKE the GN Elky! There's also the '93 Camaro-mino in HOTROD a while back...
Here's two I snapped in the early 90's during the Winter Nats in Springfield, MO.
1 & 2 are of a 57 Chevy...Nice, but it would have been better if he used a '59 to mutate instead of a 68-72...
3 is a convertible...does that count...

Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX -- Where? That's what I said..
rstoltz Jan 17th, 00, 7:49 PM Mike H. - A guy living about two blocks from me has one of those Cadillac "Gentlemens" pick up. It's one of the most unusual Caddys you'll ever see, that's for sure. The cargo area has to be one of the most shallow ever made too. At the tailgate, it's about only a foot and a half deep. Not too practical.
