I have a 66 el camino and 67 el camino they are both 4 speed floor shift bench seats, they have been altered, I am returning them to original and I am getting conflicting info. From what I can make out as correct, I need a lower boot and retainer ring and a small chrome cover piece the boot will pull up thru, am I on the right track? and if so where the heck do I find the chrome cover.
Please help!!!!!

For the 1966 4-speed, bench seat cars, you need only the retaining ring (painted) and the boot...
I have never seen any chrome piece on the 1966...
For 1967, I thought the retaining ring was chrome, but I don't recall another chrome piece... But not too familiar with the 67s... Maybe the chrome cover is a 1967 thing (instead of the chrome retainer...

My dad's 67 SS is a bench seat 4-speed car and it has a special chrome bezel and boot for that particular installation. The 66 just has a black ring with a boot that I think is interchangable with 64-66. On a stock 67 the hump is made different as well.
