View Full Version : 69 Door Panels w/ carpet on bottom?

Does anyone know if the door panels on a 69 (the one I'm looking at happens to be a convertible) had carpeting on the bottom, about 4" - 6" up from the bottom edge? I don't ever recall this being the case. A convertible I'm looking at has this and the current owner thinks that the car came this way, although he has only owned it for the past 10 years or so. Don't know if it matters or not, but this interior is the parchment color (pearl white).

I'm not sure about 69 but 68 Concours interiors had carpeting on the lower portion of the door panels. This is straight out of a dealer brochure.

Hi Joe,
Yeah, I remember the Concours model had that. Kinda like a Caprice version of the Chevelle. The car I'm looking at is a 69 SS396 convertible, and my memory tells me something is amiss here. It's not that it's really a big deal or anything, I was just curious. I know my 69 Impala convertible (parchment interior, also) does not have carpet on the bottom of the door panels.

Nice to hear from you again. Take care.
