Instructions: put your hands over your head and step away from the grinder and torch. Seriously, what is the history of this car? Is the body decent? Is it a plain Jane Malibu or an SS? Most guys here are not into tubbing their cars (or yours) unless the floors are rotted anyway and there is absolutely nothing "special" about the car.

I have a prostreet 55 chevy, and did all the work except narrowing the rear..and seriously if you have to ask how to do it dont even think of it, this is no "follow the numbers" excersize by a longshot. Get help from someone who can weld and has a good eye for measurements, and experience if possible. Do it wrong, throw away the car.

I did a 68 Camaro with a friend some years ago . We both had quite a bit of fabrication exp I had through High school worked at a welding shop that did this sort of work . I would not want to do it again I still see the car around and wish we had restored the floors and trunk Instead never rode good etc etc etc MIKE

In your other post you mentioned low $$$$, seriously the money it will cost to tub is more than it will cost you to restore your floors if they are shot! My moms 67 Camaro cost 7 grand w/ wheels and tires and SERIOUS HOOKUPS!!!(meaning lots o' connections!) Of course she had someone else do it.
My 2 cents!

I have to agree with the above posts. If you have to ask how, and are short on cash, you shouldn't even think about doing this yourself! If you are still determined to do so, call S&W Racecars @ 610-948-7303. They make welded rear frame packages that are the easiest way to do it. They can give you advice on exactly what's involved. But keep in mind this will definately NOT be cheap or easy to do with no experience.

did mine two years ago, with the help of two good friends both with experience in building circle track cars, my 69ss was in said shape, didn't want it to go to the crusher, well it's been two years and it's 85% finished, cost a ton of money, over 5 big ones just for the back half, I was a mechanic for 13 years could of never did this myself, measurements are critical, pay someone, the part about most guys here are not into tubbing! well here's one that is and I think if it's done right there real eye catchers and will ride a little rough, but I don't care it's a chevelle anyway!
