Guys,
Looking for the best of both worlds if possible??
I've never sat in a 4 or 5 point seat belt
system, but need to get a set-up that is safe / comfortable and legal on the streets of California.

I'm looking at putting 2 high back buckets in my 65 Chevelle that have the belts go over the shoulder. I need to keep my risk of whiplash to a minimum if possible due to medical reason.

From reading it seems that alot of the setups are secured to the rear floor behind the bucket seats. But most pictures involve a roll bar(race car)and it takes a shoehorn to get in and out of the setup.
I'd hate to have someone drill and weld to the floor behind the buckets but if I have to....

This will be an everyday driver, no track.
So I need the comfort and practicality if possible. Never tried the Recarro etc..

With the uneven floor in the 65 the tracks for the seats may pose a problem as well??

Lookin for ideas on kind of seats and there setup, that would supply safety and comfort?

I saw the Chrysler Sebring convertible seats that have the seatbelt come out of the seat themselves?? Secured to the tracks of the seat??
I don't know how this system works but looked interesting.

Thanks,
jack

These guys make a great seat, their Carerra models have an inflateable & adjustable lumbar support as well as reclinning. They also make brackets that are a direct bolt in for your 65.
As for the belt harness, they make a couple different harnesses, but one of which would go through the shoulders and attach to your factory seatbelt holes. No need for the rollbar http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif They're a slick setup indeed. I'm sure they're others out there, but for the price and quality, it wasn't a tough descision for me.

Hope this helps.

Andrew,
Thanks for the response.

Thats what I'm looking for. Something that bolts to the existing places.
I'll have to find out who around town distributes them to get a feel for them.
Sounds like the trick setup.
Thanks
