I have one of these tachs in my 66ss that was in it when I bought it. I have since took it out because it quit working. Besides I am getting all auto Meter guages anyway. Although it is likely a simple connection is to blame (ground wire im sure). The problem is that all of the wires are blue and dont look altered or painted. Can someone tell me what wire goes to what on this tach. And also how can I remove that chrome ring, mine has totally faded away? Ill paint it or something.

I've got the same tach, the wires coming out of the back of mine are-

black: ground
red: ignition +
white: dash lights
green: tach hookup

If none of the wires are altered or painted, and there are no other markings on them, I'd say its a matter of remember which wire came from where when you disconnected it. You'll hafta play alot of guessing games with it to get it to work. I'd personally scrap it and run an auto meter tach if your going that way anyhow.
