I removed the air conditioner from my car and I am replacing the kick panels with one's from a non-air conditioning car. I thought the panels I purchased were from a 69 non-air car but I have doubts. The passenger side has a large vent with 1 pull knob to open it to operate the vent. The drivers side looks identical to the passenger side but it has an extra hole for an additional vent pull knob and the top row of vent fins are not there. It does not look like they have been cut. Could this kick panel and vent have come from a 68 or 69 wagon? I can send photos if anyone can help answer these questions.
Thanks,
Terry

My 69 Malibu with ac has one vent pull knob on each side. I don't know what your extra driver's side knob would be for.

The kick panels from a non-A/C 1969 have two vent cables on each side. The lower one is for the large vent in the kick panel itself. The top one is for the ball vent that is part of the dash.
If the cables are missing, they can be purchased from various vendors for around $16 each. They are four feet long and need to be cut. They are easy to cut but there is a techique. If you get that far I can tell you how I did it.
These cables do not have the original style knob but they look just fine. If you want ones with the original knob, I think they are around $36 each!

Thats only if you had astro ventalation option. My '69 has no air, no vent balls, and 1 pull on each kickpanel, and they are non-air kickpanels.

The drivers side where the vent louvers are missing is where the parking brake mounts. Mine are also missing in the spot so it was probably a factory thing to make the parking brake fit.

Thanks alot guys. My car does have the Astro Ventalation, so it looks like I need to find the passenger side with dual vent pulls.

I'm fairly sure that Astro Ventilation was NOT an option. It was standard on non-a/c Malibu 2 door hardtops and convertibles. I am not sure about the 300 Deluxe 2 door hardtops. 2 door sedans, 4 doors, wagons, & El Caminos did not have Astro Ventilation; they had vent windows.
