I have a 77 elky and I think it is missing a emblem in the grill, it has the chevy bowtie in the center but it looks like there was a emblem that was there at one time off to the drivers side,(left), of the bowtie. The elky is a classic and two tone so I dont think that would have been a SS emblem in the grill, any help? thanx

FWIW
My 72 had the bowtie in the center and on the driver side a small plate that said "by Chevrolet" or maybe just chevrolet

Could it be something used on the GMC Sprint?
Phillip, it sounds like you have an El Camino Conquista. It would not have had anything to the left of the bow-tie. The SS carried a small 'SS' on the lower-left of the grille; and a Malibu Classic coupe/sedan would say 'Malibu Clasic' there. Is yours a 305 or a 350 (.. or a 250?)
