I have a Mallory tach that came with my 67 when I purchased it, no paper work or wiring information. Well, during the small block/big block swap, somehow the tach wiring is disconnected and I don't know what wire goes to what. Does anyone know if Mallory has a web site, I'm sure they do but I've been searching the web for it and have not found it. I thought I would email them and ask for a wiring diagram.

Mr. Gasket now has Mallory. Go to www.mrgasket.com (http://www.mrgasket.com) and you will find Mallory.

Normally a tach only has 4 wires, Red and black are positeve and negative (hook the positive up to a 12 volt IGN. souce at the fuse box that turns on with the key). and a green wire that goes to the negative side of the coil (or the tach output of an HEI or MSD) and a white wire for the light in the tach (hook it up to the lights terminal at your fuse box).

Bill,

I used to have a Mallory tach, but I still have the instructions. Bob's directions are correct. Here is how the wires get connected:

Red - To switched power. Basically, the ignition switch.

Black - Ground

White - Light switch.

Green - To coil/ignition box.
