I'm ready to start recovering my buckets. So far, I've replaced one set of seat and back springs. I have covered the seat with burlap and hog ringed on some cotton on the edges of the wire frame. I have placed the foam on the seat as well as the PUI seat cover. On the bottom side of the seat cover, where it lines up with the foam (there's a place for them to line up), I realize they are to be hog ringed to the spring but, it appears like there's some material missing from the seat cover. On my old ones there's extra material and a rod sewed through it that is used for the hog ring. Also, when I placed the cover over the foam, and pulled the material over the sides and under the metal frame, am I supposed to push down on the foam to be able to hog ring it in palce?

I used cheap covers. But, mine looked completely different underneath than my originals. Main problem I had was that the rod went through some fragil looking white cloth. So, I tied the rings through the vinyl behind it. Big mistake. I tore through the vinyl up to the cloth anyway.
Just do whatever you can to fasten it in place.
As far as fastening the bottoms, I turned them upside down and put my knees where the bases mount, using my weight to compress the springs while I hogringed it in place. Just be careful it's straight. I had to pull out a few wrinkles and never got it perfect.

I'm tryng to avoid paying to have these done, one quoate so far is $400.00 for both buckets and rear bench. I just came from putting verything in place AGAIN... and it seams as though the foam spaces and seat seams DON'T line up???? The foam is from OPG.

you should have a small wire that slides into the outer seem of the seatcovers. you have to use your orginal ones as they dont come with the replacement covers. then hogring the vinal accross the wire that you threaded through the seam. hope this helps

You can use coat hangers for the rod..works fine for me.

My PUI seat covers do not have a special piece of material for the wire. Are they supposed to?
