did a 300 post car come with a rubber mat instead of carpet? It is not a 300 deluxe and what did they get carpet or rubber mat ?

All 300 cars came with the rubber matting. I believe Von was able to find a company to replicate it. My 300 was missing it's rubber matting and had carpet in it when I purchased it.

What year is your 300?

Yes I got rubber (actually vinyl) mat direct from ACC (Auto Custom Carpets). They make most of the carpets you see in Chevelle parts catalogs. The texture doesn't match original exactly from what I can tell, but is a reasonable substitute. It is formed to match the contour of your floor pan and you have to trim the edges to fit. Be sure to tell them if you have a floor hump for manual trans. It cost about $130 and arrived two days after ordering. Caution, this stuff is thick and stiff. Put a small elect heater in the car with the vinyl for a while to heat it up and make it flexible. Makes the trimming and fitting a lot easier.
