Hey guys i got a weird one here my 67 has 66 style buckets in it....the seats still have the Dec.6 1966 build ticket in them and my car is an original bucket seat car but the stitching looks 66. It is a Canadian car and i am finding alot of irregularities with US built cars and Can. built cars could this have been a factory deal or .....??????? Any ideas? Ralph

Do the seats have seat back buttons like other 67's?

Yes they do have buttons on the side to fold the seat back forwards. Ralph

I dont know if the canadian cars changed the seat covers in 67 but 66 did not have a side release button like 67shovel was asking about.
So it sounds like you have the correct seats. Have they ever been recovered before?
My 66SS has 67 seats in it, but someone put them in there. Its still a factory bucket seat car though.
Chris.

Hey Ralph67, it sounds to me like you have a late production Malibu SS. My Canadian Chevelle rolled off the line on Dec 15th, 1966. Is yours a 136-series with, let me guess, a 763 interior code? I'd love to find out all about your Chevelle.
As for the upholstry, it sounds as though the seats must have had new covers installed. The Canadian cars certainly had the same interior as the U.S. cars, just fewer colour selections (no turquoise, plus red was only offered on buckets). The build ticket on your seats, is it a Line 100 tag? It will list all options (via RPO codes) that came on your car. If you have it handy you might want to post it.
