: Anyone else use AOL Instant Messenger?
81ElCamino Aug 11th, 99, 7:15 PM I have it, but for well over 24 hours, I can't log in.
No error messages, it just stops at "2. Verifying name and password" anyone else?
P.S. I am "BlasterC4" on AIM.

Hey SoCalRat67 I wonder what the 39% means beside your screen name?

Radd Aug 11th, 99, 9:27 PM Hey 81,
I am having the same problem and nothing is wrong with my pc. Tried a reboot just to check, no luck. I suspect that aol is having problems, what else is new.
larrym Aug 11th, 99, 10:33 PM These problems may be related to the battle AOL has been having with Microsoft and other internet service providers (ISP) to deny non-AOL ISPs access to AOL's Instant Messenger system. In recent weeks it's been an ongoing game where AOL erects a barrier and Microsoft finds a way to evade it.

Bob70 Aug 12th, 99, 12:32 PM AOL instant messanger s*cks! and so does AOL for that matter IMO. If you want the same functionality with reliability and best of all no cost...get ICQ. This p*ssing match between AOL and MS is going to cost them customers.

SoCalRat Aug 12th, 99, 6:21 PM Dean,
That 39% is my warning rating. My friend clicked it 5 times to see if it did anything. That's why he drives Firebirds and I drive Chevelles. I'm smarter.
Bob70,
I don't like AOL either, but I use the messenger & sorry to report this, but ICQ is owned and operated by AOL! They own everything! When is this madness going to stop?

81ElCamino Aug 13th, 99, 3:43 PM OK, It's working again, been chatting with Ohio buddy (Syclone owner). I've put SoCalRat and jshrub into my buddy list, although that takes a lot of time from this EXTREMELY valuable site!!!!
