: What Did You Seal Your Kick Panels With?

I'm getting ready to re-install my kick panels and I'm debating on what to re-seal them with. The stuff they used in the factory looks like plumbers putty. It has been suggested that I get a roll of the stuff that is used to hold in windshields, but I'm wondering if that will make it next to impossible to get the panels back out at some later date.

Plumber's putty would be a good option. I've also used a type of string caulk sold in body shop supply stores which is typically called dum-dum. It is sticky black stuff used to seal little holes and seams where body panels converge to make them water tight. If you use dum-dum make sure to wear rubber gloves or it will stick to you more than the car and your fingers will be black for days.
