Hey Guys, I've got a 69 SS with an auto. console, but has woodgrain in the center and a lock assembly on the console lid. Also has screw holes on the side. Is this were the little buckets go for the seatbelt buckles ?
I think they were for 70-72 , but did they come factory on a 1969 model? I believe my console is out of a 70-72 model. Thanks

The belt holders were not the "little bucket" type in 69 they look like the male end of the buckle and the female end slips onto them

Monte Carlo consoles have the wood grain

So Dean, the plastic buckets are for 70-72
cars & the '69's take the chrome metal brackets like the 67 camaros' used?

It sounds like you have a monte console or at least the top plate.

The buckets were on the 70-72's. I also believe the 69's did not have the lock on the door. Still a little fuzzy this morning. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

that's right, I forgot about the 69's not having the latch on the lid

Don't know about Camaro consoles

Hey I'll trade ya Ive got the 69 retainers in my 72 elky (they could stand a replate but still look good) and a 69 lid and hinge lid is cracked but I'm sure I can do a repair on it and it wouldn't be noticable.
