ive got a set of buckets that the plastic has a few scatches and dull finish (after 37 years , go figure) at any rate, is paint the way to go? or is there some other product? if paint is the way does it take a special kind? and if so what is it? thanks Dave

Hi Try "Mother's Vinyl Cleaner" spray on and wipe off with a rag,it works great. If the plastic is very dirty try a plastic scrub brush with water, let dry then use Mother's. Dave

this is going to sound odd, but it works great.

IF your backs are black, use instant black shoe polish - the liquid kind where you don't have to buff. The plastic will look like new.

I know that I have been pushing SEM products a lot in some of my posts. I really don't work for them! smile.gif

It is just that they make a really nice product to freshen up plastic and vinyl. You could LIGHTLY sand out some of the scratches and then paint them. I would strongly recommend going that route. Just an opinnion though.

Don't know about the shoe polish though. Hate to have someone rub against it getting into the back seat.

Don't worry about rubbing against the shoe polish, IF the seat backs were clean before you put it on. I've had it in my car for 2 years now, black interior on a hot summer day, and the black didn't come off. (Used it on smaller pieces that get handled - seat belt buckles!).

Easy to test it out first if you're worried about it - again, make sure the back is clean first.
