Hello Team Chevelle,
I am having great difficulties and not to mention stress, in removing the vent window assembly in my '67. So far, I have removed all the visible bolts underneath the door panel and the bolts in the front of the door that connect to the assembly, but I can't pull it up. There is a spring under the vent window, do I have to remove it? Any input?
thanks for your help! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Pull up the rubber on the angled portion of the window frame. There is a screw in the channel.

On my 66 there was a long chrome screw just below where the vent window handle was in the closed position which screws into the painted area just above the door panel area. Now the hidden screw, my 66 had another screw near the area I described above that was accessable through an opening in the door.

Don't mess with the spring on the vent window swivel yet. You have to get the frame out first. I had the door glass out of mine when I did the vent windows and it makes it easier but I don't know if it's required or not. Once you should have all the fasteners off of the vent frame it should become free to move in the door shell. Start lifting up on it and when it clears the top of the door frame you have to rotate it 90 deg so the channel brackets can come up through the door slot. Lay it on the bench and start into taking it apart further so you can do your repares. Do one at a time so you have a referance. Roger

Thanks for all your help guys! I have to take it out to paint the inside of the door panel and the top of the door panel that is visible. I also have to replace the weatherstripping. $70 for that!!
thanks again
