I used the vinyl repair kit on my door panel, but was not happy with the results. It worked great on the small, clean cuts, but not for the dime-sized hole on my door panel. I had a real problem matching the texture (even with the texture pads and "iron").

I believe you are talking about the hard plastic.? If you are wanting to fix holes in the plastic then you will have to use a plastic filler. SEM makes some really nice products.

I used a two part epoxy for plastic repair. Can't remember who made it but I picked it up from the local body shop. It worked out ok but I painted the entire dash with SEM products afterwards so it kind of hid the patches. If you want some pics than pleave feel free to email me.

Sorry. One last thing. If you fill the holes, make sure you press the filler in from the back side of the dash with the front taped. Then remove the tape and take a toothpick to try to put some texture on the smooth filler. Works ok. Just my opinnion though.

Thanks for the ideas. I decided to go with JB Weld and a self adhesive backed metel mesh used for body panel repair. I stuck the mesh to the back side of the holes and filled from the front. I will have to use my dremel tool to work in the details.
