Ok, I give how do you get a dash on a 67 malibu off? I'm going to replace the dash pad and wiper switch.

I don't know if there is a shortcut or not, but I believe you need to drop the steering column and then the dash needs to be unbolted and dropped down. Might as well fix anything else in there while it's apart.....light bulbs, heater control cables...etc.

Mine's out now for interior restoration (2nd round). 67shovel is correct about replacing ANYTHING else while it's out. Column must be dropped, but not necessarily removed. Main braces are above the radio and steering column. Smaller side screws, etc. Start with removing the glove box, ashtray and radio. That'll expose what you need to get at. Support braces (rods) hold the whole thing in place and are fairly easy to get to. Heater/ac cables removed.

I would suggest pulling the glove box insert out first for better access, and pull the door too. The column needs to be lowered (and supported, not dangled) as Shovel mentioned. Having the wheel off will make this easier.
You will see some support bars that bolt to the bottom of the dash...those will have to be removed at at least one end. You'll see several bolts along the bottom of the dash while you are there. Pull all those. There are several screws up near the dash strip to remove. No need to remove any of the switches along the top, assuming you just want to lower the dash and not remove it.
By now it should be close to dropping down. A helper is best at this stage. Be sure and support it on some milk crates or something. Once down, you'll notice the pad is attached with some funky little nuts on the underside. There are studs (about 6) built into the pad itself, that stick through the metal dash. With the nuts off, the pad just lifts off.
Hope all that helps. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks, guys. I thought there was no easy answer. I'll let you know how it goes.
