This weekend I replaced my dash with a reproduction one. What a job, but now it is complete.
One of the differences that I noticed was that my previous dash had the labels for the Lights and Wiper/Washer in Chrome paint to match the rest of the trim on the dash, while the replacment did not have the chrome lettering.
Is the chrome lettering "as shipped Original from the factory", or was this added by the previous owner?
Thanks

Ralf,
I can’t answer your question but I would love to see pictures of the install, and hear of any problems or other differences you see in the repro vs. original.
Thanks,

the crome lettering is suposed to be there from the factory. actually i thing the whole dash is crome and the masked over the letters when they paint it. i say this because i have had my keys swing and scratch the dash. it is all crome under the black paint. maybe i'm wrong, does anyone know if they cromed just the letters or the whole dash. but i do know they are crome letters from the factory. i guess you could use silver model paint and carefully brush paint the letters.

They acutally chromed the entire dash then painted it black. Yes the letters are suppose to be chrome. You can get a testors paint pen and carefully highlight the letters on the dash. I have pictures of what it looks like on my site. I also would like to know how the repop dash looks installed and well it fits.

Another good way to do fine details like lettering is to spray a little puddle of paint and dip a pencil eraser into it. Then just gently dab the eraser on the letters. Viola! You're in business.

I would be happy to post some pics, however this is a long process and I want to get the car running this weekend.
Stay tuned.
