My windshield has been leaking for some time and I pulled back my floor mat and the carpet under it had a big white patch where the water was leaking. I'm guessing this is mildew? Can I just shampoo and scrub this little part, or how should I go about getting it clean? Thanks.

I'm not an expert here, but dry it out as best you can and put {{something like}} the two-parts bleach/one-part soap/10-parts water to whatever is moldy. Be very careful not to hit the Carpet and other surfaces - it will bleach out the color. For the carpet, there's non-bleaching 'mold death' you can use, they should have it at the hardware store, I don't remember the name of it.

If you're not sure if you want to do this, just pull out the moldy stuff and replace it with new. It's not expensive at all and will keep you from worrying about it coming back.

When you're talking mold, go the extra mile, it has a habit of coming back.
