I'm heading out to the local salvage yards, all of which have acres of old classics for parts. This will be my first trip salvage yarding since I bought my Elky in June. I need to know which bench seats from what cars will fit. I searched the forums and didn't come up with much the other day, and today it's not working. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

I think I discovered that all '68 up Chevelle seats, bench, and buckets with the adapter, will fit. So I'll keep an eye out for those. Also Monte Carlo, '70-'72? Olds Cutlass, what years, 68-72? GTO's, also '68-'72? I remember from my trip to the yard a few years ago when i had my '64 Impala HT that there were alot of Imapala of all years ('60's-'70's) at all the yards, but I think the seats are too wide. Also we have alot of Chevrolet Trucks, but the seats probably too high, and too wide to fit.

So basically, what seats from other cars will fit, this is probabaly a simple answer, but I'm just getting to know my car now, well, after the new radiator, and all the engine work that is.

Oh, I also assume (we know what that does) that any car that will have the same bench/bucket seats, will have the same steering column? As long as it has the key on on the column, and the AT shifter lever, which I'm converting to B&M floor shift anyway, so I don't care about the shifter.

If you are not limiting yourself to "stock" replacement the split bench from a late 70's early 80's el dorado will fit. You will need to drill holes and then reinforce the floor. Worked for me before I changed to F-bird buckets.

buckets would be 69-72 A body, and also 69-70 X body (nova). Bench 68-72 should work. For steering columns stick with 69-72 A body so you dont have to hassle with wiring.

Okay, cool. But which cars are A-body cars? I guess I could just go look that up on Google or something, thanks!
