Does anyone have guidance on the best way to remove and replace that small piece of chrome trim that is on the leading edge of the rear windows on a '67 Chevelle SS hardtop?
Thanks in advance if you can help.

I'm getting ready to do this to my 72 and asked my body guy how to do it. He said to take a piece of wood and use that up on the chrome, and just whack it.(Let me know if it works and I'll try mine! 8^)

last year when I was doing my doors and door panels, I wanted to do mine which are pitted. First of all they're hard to find, and the guy that was helping me (retired pro) said to take it to an auto glass shop. Now you may be right (just whack it) but for my money I'd be afraid to break the window-

James. I have done this twice in my younger days. I will have to do it agian someday in the next months on my project car. If I remember correctly these verticals have a rubber lining inside. You could try cutting this lining with a stanley or putty knife so as to create room for removal. The new ones will slide on with a little soap on the linings. Be sure to put them on in their right position because you will not be able to slide them up or down afterwards. Hope this helps.

James,
Noneck is right with piece of wood. A piece of 1/2 dowel works good and a hammer just tap a little on end, middle and other end a little at a time. If you happen to break the glass it just so happens I have both pieces out of car w/some small scraches nothing very noticable good for daiy driver.
