I just bought a 72 Chevelle. The front seats were converted from a bench to buckets. It appears that the bucket seats were bolted in using the same holes for the bench.

The problem is that the new bucket seats don't slide back far enough. In other words, even with the front buckets adjusted back as far as they can go, there is not much room for the driver.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any suggestions as to how to remedy this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Likely someone mounted them with new holes, I mounted mine in the bench location and the seat is fine for me.

Granted I'm only 5' 7" but I do like lots of room, if my legs were any straighter sitting, they would be in a standing position
