I have buckets from a '70 in my car now (used to be a bench). I am going to do the interior this winter. Is there a way to convert the rear latch to the side latch that is correct for a '68? I always see bucket seats for sale that say "1968 to 1972". Aren't the '68 ones different from the others because of the side latch?

Yep,it changed in 69 to the release in the middle of the seat.Before i'd try to convert them i would just try to trade them for what you want which is 67-68 seats or just sell'em.

The 67 buckets have metal back and lower moldings where as the 68's have plastic ones.

I'm sure someone else has just asked how to change their 68 seats to 69-72.

I bought my 68 seats on this site for $100.They need recovering but it was a good deal.
