on a '66...
im trying to remove the plate behind the chrome perimeter trim on the right side (the third piece) of my dash. it has the Malibu (or it would have the supersport) insignia on it.
... how do i remove the glove box lock?
ive been fiddling with it for a while, and its obviously detesting. the person i bought the car from must have been incompetent or something, cause he put it in wrong- its not seated right, if you understand....
i know it screws apart somehow, but i dont know what the two pieces are.
someone shed some light on me please.... thanks fellas.

I'll point you in the same direction they sent me when I asked. Check this link - not sure if it's good for all years, but it certainly helped me on my '68. http://personal.riverusers.com/~mcphelps/glovebox.htm

Lucas. This is how I had to do it on my 66.

Unlock the lock with the key. Remove the key, push the knob down. Now you can insert a hex wrench and unscrew the ring.
