I just got an email from somebody saying that the drivers side speaker bracket is different for an SS dash than the sweep dash.Is this true ?
Can I install aftermarket 4X6 shielded speaker on these brackets or are the stock speaker frames different than standard 4X6 speakers (aftermarket)?

I don't know the specific answer to your question. I put a set of Polk 4x6" under my dash (sweep style) using the stock brackets. I works fine but the aftermarket speakers are heavier (larger magnet). I need to make a custom bracket (not that difficult) and put a baffle behind the speaker for better imaging. I have a pair of 4x6" Polks available if you are interested. I had them to use in the kick panels, but purchased Custom Audio's kick panel speakers.
