I had to replace my console inserts in my 70 because they were all dinged up, but instead of buying stock replacement ones, I had some made up with "SS 454" on the forward insert. They are real brushed aluminum and are more durable than the stock replacements. If anyone would like a set for themselves, let me know. I'm using the solid "SS 454" ones on my console but I do have a plain set, and the outlined "SS 454" set ready. If you want a set with "SS 396" or "SS 502" or any other engine size, that can be done as well. Prices are below:

Plain: $17 + shipping
Solid and outline "SS 454": $20 + shipping
Solid and outline w/other engine size: $22 + shipping
