: Bucket Seat Upholstery Repair?

The driver's bucket on my '70 has one cord that has about a 2" long abrasion (I assume from roatating butts to enter/exit the car). The rest of the seat cover is in excellent shape.

Is there anyway of replacing a cord, without having to replace the whole seat cover? If so, is it something relatively easy, or should I take it to a pro?

Thanks for the help!

your nearest upholstery shop can give you a
PIPING OVERLAY the cover must come off the frame
he then unstiches the piping from the cover
OVERLAYS a peice of vinyl to the chord
thens sews the seat cover together.
looks o.k. even in show, but you'll know
it was repaired, unless you replace the whole chord ( piping)

Thanks for the reply 442! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Is it possible to replace the whole piping chord, or just repair it?

If I'm going to do it, especially if the cover has to come off the frame, I'd want to do it right! Was just hoping that I didn't have to replace the whole seat cover for one minor problem.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to be sure I understood what was possible before I take it to a "pro"
