I've seen their advertisement for the digital package w/the bezel's and all the sending units. Seems like a *very* trick way to make my chevelle stand out, and ruffle the feathers of you purists ;] My question is towards anyone that has heard or has hands on knowledge of these and what your thoughts and opinions are.

Thanks in advance!

You can doa search on the matter. I've seen this topic a few times before. I know of at least two that have it. I think they are driver cars to so you might get some usefull help for them.

My take: I like the climbing needle myself. Round, white faced gauges with a swooping orange needle suites me best.

Go for it, and be sure to post what you think.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. I too like the needle, even though I'd be having digital guages, a nice 9,000 RPM tach on the dash suits me well. I'm fairly certain I'm going to go that route, if for nothing else, the fact that you can adjust your speedo on the fly without ever having to change the gears. NiCE.

Andrew, if you like the climbing needles, but also like the electronic calibration capability, consider this. We put in whiteface Autometer guages, all electric, with an electronic speedo. VERY simple to calibrate and you can re-cal anytime you change tire size, axle ratio etc.
They look FINE! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif

Do a search for member Dale McIntosh. He has a Dakota Digital Dash in his very nice '67. Last I talked with him, he was very happy with it. I am considering them for my 68 camaro.

Thanks will do! I've called Dakota Digital, and apparently they're using the GoodMark bezels for 66-67 instead of the Ausleys. Which brings the questions if they have any left considering GoodMark has been out of stock for a year. I got their catalog which is really nice, leaves a much better impression than just the online catalog. I think I'm going to go with the Dakota Guages and perhaps do an step-by-step install if it's not done already. Now if only I can fabricate a custom console from the dash to the center console.... Hmmm...

Just found this. I put Dakota Digital gauges in my 67 before they had the OE styles. I used their street rod kit since I wasn't too concerned about being original either http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif I'm real please with them and with the support.

I had them for about a year before getting around to installing them - I bought a lot of the stuff before hand so I could do it all at once without having to fight backorders and such. Anyway, either the tach or speedo didn't work (can't remember which now), didn't even light up. I read their troubleshooting guide and discovered the answer, one of the LEDs was broken.

I called them to see what I could do and told them I didn't know if it came that way or if I broke it sometime during the past year. They found my original order and shipped another the next day - even included a prepaid UPS sticker to send the old one back at no charge. Couldn't have asked for more than that.

I also like the fact that they keep their instructions online for a significant length of time. I'm thinking of doing my recently acquired 67 Elky with one of their new kits that fit the stock dash.
