Hey folks,
I have a 400sb with a stock GM aluminum intake and Q-jet. Yesterday I found a small pool of oil in the bolt wells. Its on the third bolt back from the fronton both sides. I'm assuming all I have to do is retorque the bolts. Is this right or is this the sign og a bigger problem? TIA,

It's not a problem. Some intake bolts go through to the lifter valley and are exposed to oil. Remove the bolt and coat it some type of thread sealant.

I used copper crush washers from brake banjo bolts on mine.Along with liquid teflon. No leaks.

Kevin, You should tighten all the bolts on your intake while you are at it. The heat-cool cycles cause this. It was 70 degrees yesterday and I took my MCSS for a cruise.

Ditto on what larry said.I had this problem years ago and couldn't figure why until someone told me. I have always since put thread sealant on all intake bolts on BB & SB chevys and never have this problem anymore. Have fun.
